Tata Steel Limited — Others, 19-08-2025: Pendency of Litigation(s)/dispute(s) or the outcome impacting the Company

Tata Steel is involved in a legal dispute over a demand of approximately ₹1902.73 Cr from the Deputy Director of Mines, Jajpur. This demand relates to an alleged shortfall in mineral dispatch from the company’s Sukinda Chromite Block. Tata Steel challenged this through a petition with the Hon’ble High Court of Orissa. The High Court has now grouped Tata Steel's petition with similar cases and, importantly, has ordered that no punitive action can be taken by the authorities against the company until the next hearing. This provides interim relief from the substantial financial claim.
