AstraZeneca Pharma India Limited — Important, 12-09-2025: Disclosure of material issue

**Issue:** AstraZeneca Pharma India (ASTRAZEN) has received a Show Cause Notice from the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA). NPPA alleges the company overcharged for batches of 'Symbicort Turbuhaler' Inhalation Powder for the period from April 2016 to July 2025, by marketing or manufacturing them above notified ceiling prices.

**Possible Impact:** The quantum of the claim by NPPA is **Rs 60.50 Cr** (Rupees Sixty Crore Forty Nine Lakh Seventy Nine Thousand Three Hundred and Eighty Five) plus interest. If the allegations are upheld, this amount, along with interest, could become a financial liability for the company. The actual financial impact, however, cannot be determined at this stage.

**Company’s Response/Mitigation Plan:** AstraZeneca Pharma India strongly disputes the allegations made by NPPA regarding overcharging and the quantum of the claim. The company has been given 30 days to submit its detailed response to the Show Cause Notice.
