Bihar Sponge Iron Ltd — Important, 15-09-2025: Company Update

Bihar Sponge Iron has filed a new Writ Petition before the Hon'ble High Court, Chhattisgarh, against South Eastern Coal Fields Ltd. This legal action concerns a long-standing dispute over a Rs. 2.15 crore penalty for short lifting of coal during FY 2011-12. Earlier, the High Court had directed both parties to attempt a mutual resolution. However, a subsequent meeting with SECL's GM-S&M failed to address the company's concerns, prompting the decision to pursue further legal recourse. The company states that this litigation is not expected to have a material financial impact on its operations.
