An acquirer group, led by Shankar Varadharajan and Anancha Perumal Selvi Keshav, has significantly increased its stake in Soma Papers and Industries Limited via a preferential allotment. The group acquired 10 Cr shares and convertible warrants, resulting in a 60.95% holding on a fully diluted basis. This substantial acquisition has expanded Soma Papers' equity capital from Rs. 1.40 Cr to Rs. 115.48 Cr. Currently in the public category, the acquirers are set to become the promoters of Soma Papers upon completion of an upcoming open offer, marking a major change in control.
