GKB Ophthalmics has reduced its production at its Goa plant to 50% due to sluggish market demand and a complete halt of export orders from its US subsidiary, a result of heavy tariff imposition. To manage costs, the company is also phasing out temporary workers. The company plans to review its operational strategy in the coming months. Separately, GKB Ophthalmics has received an Export Excellence Award from The Plastic Export Promotion Council, Department of Commerce, Government of India, recognizing its exceptional performance in "Hard Resilient Lenses" exports in previous years.
