Canara Bank delivered strong financial results for the quarter and half-year. Global Business reached ₹26.79 lakh crore, up 13.55% YoY, driven by robust Global Deposits of ₹15.28 lakh crore (up 13.40%) and Global Advances of ₹11.51 lakh crore (up 13.74%). RAM credit surged 16.94% YoY to ₹6.71 lakh crore, led by a 29.11% jump in Retail Credit to ₹2.51 lakh crore and 12.70% growth in MSME Credit to ₹1.54 lakh crore.
The bank is actively expanding its digital presence with increased mobile banking and UPI registrations, plus new initiatives like Account Portability and Braille Debit Cards. ESG efforts are also notable, securing green building certifications and an improved ESG risk rating. The bank also surpassed all mandated priority sector lending targets. Post-IPO, Canara Robeco and Canara HSBC Life Insurance have transitioned from subsidiaries to associates.
Operating Profit rose 12.20% YoY to ₹8,588 Cr, and Net Profit jumped 18.93% YoY to ₹4,774 Cr. Asset quality improved significantly, with Gross NPA down to 2.35% and Net NPA to 0.54%. The Provision Coverage Ratio strengthened to 93.59%. EPS annualized reached ₹21.01. The bank's performance for the period has surpassed its own guidance for March 2026 across key metrics.
