Union Bank of India delivered mixed financial results for the quarter and half-year. While Net Profit for the quarter was ₹4,249 Cr (-9.97% YoY) and Operating Profit was ₹6,814 Cr (-16.01% YoY), asset quality showed significant improvement. Gross NPA fell to 3.29% (-107 bps YoY) and Net NPA to 0.55% (-43 bps YoY), with Provision Coverage Ratio (PCR) at 95.13%. Credit cost sharply reduced to 0.22%.
Global business mix stands at ₹22.10 Trillion, with deposits at ₹12.35 Trillion and advances at ₹9.75 Trillion, solidifying its position as the 5th largest PSB. Global Advances grew 4.99% YoY, fueled by strong Retail (up 23.98%) and MSME (up 14.88%) segments, bringing total RAM advances up 8.14% YoY.
Strategic focus on digital initiatives is paying off, generating over ₹24,600 Cr in business and onboarding 6.82 lakh new customers. The bank launched VYOM 2.0 and Digital Rupee Merchant App, showing strong digital adoption. Its Capital Adequacy Ratio (CRAR) remains robust at 17.07%. The board has approved a ₹6,000 Cr capital raising plan for FY26.
