Citicorp, representing Vedanta bondholders, announced that Vedanta's promoter group entity, Vedanta Holdings Mauritius II, has added 49.28 crore VEDL shares to existing encumbrances. Total VEDL shares under encumbrance now stand at 209.58 crore (53.60% of equity), up from 40.99%. This means VHMLII's ability to deal with these shares is restricted per bond terms, though no direct pledge is created.
