SAIL's H1 FY26 revenue grew 8% to Rs.52,625 Cr, with PAT up 32% to Rs.1,112 Cr. Sales volume surged 17% to 9.46 million tons, helping reduce borrowings by over Rs.3,000 Cr. Management is upbeat on H2, expecting improved steel demand and prices, and higher EBITDA margins (14-15% in Q4) as capital repairs end. The company aims for over 5% volume growth in FY27 through de-bottlenecking and plans significant CAPEX (>Rs.10,000 Cr in FY27) for IISCO expansion, funded 50-50% by debt and accruals. Focus remains on operational efficiency and debt reduction to create headroom for growth.
