Muthoot Finance, India's leading gold financier, reported a strong half-year. Consolidated Loan AUM hit a record ₹1,47,673 Cr (+42% YoY), with standalone AUM at ₹1,32,305 Cr (+47% YoY). Gold Loan AUM surged 45% YoY to ₹1,24,918 Cr. Consolidated Profit After Tax jumped 74% YoY to ₹4,386 Cr, and standalone PAT rose 88% YoY to ₹4,391 Cr, with consolidated EPS at ₹110.52 (+82% YoY). The quantity of gold held as security increased to 209 tonnes.
Strategic growth is driven by core gold loans and extensive digital initiatives like the iMuthoot app (19.6M downloads) for seamless customer service across its pan-India network. Subsidiaries showed mixed results: Muthoot Money's AUM skyrocketed 182% with a ₹106 Cr profit turnaround. Asia Asset Finance also grew AUM by 48% and PAT by 33%. Belstar Microfinance AUM declined, reporting a loss.
A key development was Fitch Ratings upgrading the company's debt rating to 'BB+' with a 'Stable' outlook, reflecting strong business model. Capital Adequacy Ratio remains robust at 20.89%, well above norms, and Stage III loan assets improved to 2.25% from 4.30% YoY. The company is focused on market expansion, digital enhancement, and leveraging its brand and liquidity for future growth.
