Eiko LifeSciences has announced the acquisition of a 51% equity stake in SSM Formulations, a WHO-GMP accredited pharmaceutical formulations company. This move transforms Eiko from a specialty chemicals and API supplier into a fully integrated pharmaceutical player, expanding its global footprint in Finished Dosage Forms. SSM's facility boasts an annual capacity for 300 crore tablets and 90 crore capsules. Eiko plans to significantly boost capacity utilization from current levels of approximately 58% (tablets) and 33% (capsules) to over 90%, leveraging its own API supply chain. This strategic acquisition aims to drive substantial topline and bottom-line growth and diversify revenue streams for Eiko shareholders.
