NTPC Limited — JV/Acquisition, 09-01-2026: Acquisition

NTPC, in a consortium with MAHAGENCO, is acquiring Sinnar Thermal Power Limited (STPL) for Rs 3800.14 Cr. NTPC will hold a 50% stake in STPL, which operates a 1350 MW coal-based thermal power plant. This strategic acquisition significantly boosts NTPC's power generation capacity, reinforcing its leadership in India's power sector. It expands the NTPC group's total installed capacity to 86,987 MW and commercial capacity to 85,907 MW. This cash acquisition further strengthens NTPC's asset base.
