The Delhi government has announced a significant policy change, closing its Ladli Yojana scheme on March 31. This will be replaced by a new 'Delhi Lakhpati Betiyan Yojana' launching from April 1, aiming to provide increased financial assistance to daughters. The annual income eligibility limit for families will be raised from 1 Lakh to 1.20 Lakh rupees, with a maximum of two daughters per family being eligible. An additional 20,000 rupees will be provided to beneficiaries upon completing their graduate education, building on past efforts that saw 90 Cr rupees disbursed to 31,000 girls.
