Hindustan Unilever's consolidated net profit for the December quarter of FY'26 surged to Rs 6,603 crore, primarily driven by a one-off positive impact from the demerger of its ice cream business to Kwality Wall's (India) Ltd. Excluding exceptional items, profit after tax saw a modest 1% growth, reaching Rs 2,562 crore. Revenue from product sales increased by 5.71% to Rs 16,197 crore. The company also reported an exceptional loss of Rs 576 crore due to new Labour Codes. This highlights how strategic portfolio restructuring can dramatically boost reported earnings, while underlying performance shows more modest gains.
