UPL Ltd is increasing its stake in Brazilian associate Sinova Inovacoes Agricolas S.A. with an investment of ~USD 86.7 million (approx. ₹720.6 crore). This equity infusion will boost UPL Brazil's holding from 49.97% to 55.81%, though Sinova remains an associate. The move aims to address Sinova's working capital needs and reduce debt. Strategically, this strengthens UPL's market presence as Sinova is a key reseller of UPL products in Brazil's vital agricultural region, enhancing product promotion and distribution.
