Delhi, Tuesday, 09 June 2026
Lucknow : Politics
over claims of theft of crores
of rupees from offerings
made to the Ayodhya Ram
Temple continued for the
second day, with opposition
and ruling party leaders tar-
geting each other over the
sensitive religious issue.
Samajwadi Party Na-
tional President Akhilesh
Yadav, who raised the issue
on Sunday along with his
party's Ayodhya leader
Pawan Pandey, continued
his allegations on Monday
as well.
Akhilesh Yadav, in a so-
cial media post on Monday,
said, "The explanation itself
is not clear."
He added, "It seems like
a normal thing for them ev-
ery week, so normal that
they don't even consider it
'remarkable' anymore. The
facial expressions and body
language are full of frustra-
tion and despair."
He further said, "All
trust members should be
brought together to provide
explanations, and CCTV
evidence should be used to
verify the data. Once all
trustees are together, the
truth will immediately
emerge, as not everyone is
the same. When there is no
single individual at the cen-
ter of this alleged fraud,
what significance does one
individual's explanation
hold?"
The SP president further
wrote, "It should also be
clarified why it took so many
hours to come up with a
40-second explanation, and
why even speaking for one
minute in the name of clarifi-
cation is proving costly.
Like the state government's
silence, this clarification is
also suspicious. It seems as
if the explanation is merely a
verbal formality."
Akhilesh Yadav also
claimed that the Sanatan so-
ciety across the world has
become more suspicious
and hurt by what he called a
weak explanation.
On Sunday night, Shri
Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth
Kshetra Trust General Sec-
retary Champat Rai issue a
clarification on the allega-
tions made by former minis-
ter Pawan Pandey and Akh-
ilesh Yadav. He said the trust
undergoes periodic internal
audits in which representa-
tives of the trust and SBI
Bank are involved. The au-
dits last several days, and the
same process is currently
underway, with no irregu-
larities found so far.
Countering Akhilesh
Yadav, UP BJP president
Pankaj Chaudhary said,
"Who is saying this? Some-
thing has gone missing.
Akhilesh Yadav keeps say-
ing things, but we will not
keep responding to him.
This is not a government is-
sue. The temple administra-
tion will respond."
Pawan Pandey, a former
minister in the Samajwadi
Party government, alleged
that between ₹5 crore and
₹7.5 crore had been stolen
from Ram Temple offerings
in Ayodhya. Akhilesh Yadav
also said the government's
silence on the matter was
suspicious and demanded
that the court take cogni-
zance of the issue.
Meanwhile, Shankara-
charya Avimukteshwa-
rananda, speaking in Agra,
supported Akhilesh Yadav
and said, "When you make a
thief your protector, what
will he do? Earlier, it was
done in the name of land.
Now it is being taken direct-
ly from the bank."
Trust member Mahant
Dinendra Das Maharaj said,
"All decisions of the trust are
made collectively. All trans-
actions are recorded. Every-
thing is being conducted in a
fair and transparent manner.
Lord Ram oversees every-
thing. The trust would never
make such a mistake."
Shankaracharya
Avimukteshwarananda fur-
ther said, "Managing the
temple is the responsibility
of an organisation. Earlier,
this was the responsibility of
religious leaders. You re-
moved the religious leaders
and brought in a trust of your
own workers. That is why
this is happening now."
Arya saint Varun Das
Maharaj said, "Ram devo-
tees have made sacrifices for
the Ram Janmabhoomi.
Akhilesh Yadav has ha-
rassed and tortured Ram
devotees. Therefore, he has
no right to speak on matters
related to the Ram Temple."
Hanumangarhi's Mah-
ant Ramdas said, "The SP
chief's statement is political.
No member of the trust has
raised any questions. How-
ever, in light of the theft al-
legations, Trust General
Secretary Champat Rai
should call a meeting of the
trust and clarify the situa-
tion."

Lucknow: Uttar
Pradesh is rapidly advancing
towards becoming one of In-
dia's leading textile and ap-
parel manufacturing hubs
through the Sant Kabir Tex-
tile and Apparel Park
Scheme.The UP government
has planned the develop-
ment of five major textile
parks in Varanasi, Amroha,
Bareilly, Sant Kabir Nagar
and Bijnor. More than 326
acres of land have been iden-
tified for these parks, and the
transfer of all land parcels
has already received Cabinet
approval.Officials here on
Monday said under the
scheme, textile parks will be
developed on 75 acres in
Ramna (Varanasi), 79.825
acres in Amroha, 79.580
acres in Baheri (Bareilly),
39.490 acres in Maghar
(Sant Kabir Nagar), and
52.910 acres in Nagina (Bi-
jnor).All projects will be es-
tablished under the Public-
Private Partnership (PPP)
model. The government
aims to attract significant in-
vestments while generating
large-scale employment op-
portunities across the state.
For effective implemen-
tation of the project, a notifi-
cation for the constitution of
the development authority
has already been issued, and
the land transfer process has
been completed.The North-
ern India Textile Research
Association (NITRA) has
submitted the pre-feasibility
report for the Varanasi park,
while revised pre-feasibility
reports for the remaining
four parks are currently be-
ing prepared. These reports
will be finalised after incor-
porating suggestions from
industry stakeholders.To ex-
pedite the development of
the Ramna Textile Park in
Varanasi, work on the con-
struction of the connecting
road is also progressing. Fol-
lowing the completion of the
tendering process for road
construction, contractual
formalities are currently un-
derway.For power supply,
plans have been prepared for
a 132 kV substation, trans-
mission lines and 33 kV elec-
trical infrastructure to ensure
uninterrupted electricity
availability within the park.
The UP government is also
placing special emphasis on
developing these projects in
compliance with environ-
mental standards. Processes
related to environmental
clearances, groundwater us-
age approvals and no-objec-
tion certificates from the
Forest Department are cur-
rently underway.Simultane-
ously, PPP-based tender
documents are being pre-
pared for the selection of
master developers for the
other four parks.Encouraged
by the positive response
from industry stakeholders,
the government expects sub-
stantial investment in these
projects.
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh
Deputy Chief Minister Kes-
hav Prasad Maurya has said
that under the illustrious
leadership of Prime Minister
Narendra Modi, the last 12
years have been dedicated to
service, good governance,
sensitivity, and the welfare of
the poor.
"During these years, ev-
ery government scheme has
focused on the last person in
society. Schemes like the Jan
Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yoja-
na, Ayushman Bharat, Prad-
han Mantri Awas Yojana, Jal
Jeevan Mission and free food
grain distribution have
brought positive change to
the lives of millions of poor
families," he claimed in a
statement here on Monday.
The Deputy Chief Min-
ister said that for a long time,
millions of poor families in
the country were deprived of
basic amenities like housing.
For them, owning a
home was not only a neces-
sity but also the foundation
of a dignified life. Under-
standing this need of the
poor, Prime Minister Naren-
dra Modi made the Pradhan
Mantri Awas Yojana a pri-
mary vehicle for public wel-
fare and accomplished the
historic task of providing
permanent and safe housing
to millions of homeless fami-
lies.
He stated that today,
more than 40 million fami-
lies across the country have
been provided with perma-
nent housing.
Uttar Pradesh is among
the leading states in this cam-
paign. Nearly 6.2 million
families in the state have
been provided with perma-
nent housing, including
more than 4.1 million eligi-
ble families in rural areas.
Mr. Maurya stated that
under the Pradhan Mantri
Awas Yojana (Rural) and
Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana
(Rural), beneficiaries have
been provided with not only
housing but also amenities
such as toilets, free electrici-
ty connections, Ujjwala gas
connections, Ayushman
Bharat cards and employ-
ment under MNREGA. This
has significantly improved
the living standards of poor
families.

controversy erupted on Sun-
day after Jammu and Kash-
mir BJP media in-charge Sa-
jid Yousuf Shah alleged that
he was denied accommoda-
tion at a hotel in Maharash-
tra’s Aurangabad because of
his Kashmiri identity,
prompting sharp reactions
from the ruling (NC) and op-
position leaders.Shah took to
social media platform X to
share his experience, claim-
ing that although he had suc-
cessfully checked into a hotel
in Aurangabad, he was later
asked to leave due to con-
cerns linked to his identity as
a Kashmiri. His post quickly
drew widespread attention
and sparked a debate over
discrimination faced by peo-
ple from Jammu and Kashmir
in different parts of the coun-
try.Describing the incident as
deeply upsetting, Shah said
he was saddened by what had
transpired. He noted that the
hotel owner had been courte-
ous and candid during their
interaction and had acknowl-
edged that the decision was

Lucknow: Set to
emerge as a flagship desti-
nation on Uttar Pradesh’s
cultural and spiritual tour-
ism circuit, complement-
ing destinations such as
Ayodhya, Kashi, Mathu-
ra, Prayagraj, and Sar-
nath, Lucknow is poised
to get one of India’s most
ambitious cultural proj-
ects with the development
of the proposed 'Uttar
Pradesh Sanskriti Sangra-
halay – Museum and Ritu-
al Centre'.
The Uttar Pradesh
government has approved
nearly Rs 23.42 crore for
the development, design,
and curation of the proj-
ect, while Rs 8 crore has
been released during the
current financial year to
initiate work.
Conceived as a land-
mark cultural destination
on the banks of the Gomti,
the project seeks to estab-
lish Uttar Pradesh as the
‘Cradle of Rituals’ by pre-
senting the state’s rich
legacy of traditions, 'sam-
skaras' (good values), sa-
cred practices, and living
cultural heritage through
immersive experiences.
And contemporary
museum technology.
Unlike a conventional
museum centred on arte-
facts, the new centre will
take visitors through the
Indian journey of life it-
self, from Garbhadhana
(conception) to Antyeshti
(final rites), while inter-
preting the four 'Purushar-
thas' of Indian philoso-
phy: Dharma (righteous
duty), Artha (prosperity),
Kama (human aspira-
tions), and Moksha (lib-
eration).
The experience will
unfold through thematic
galleries dedicated to the
origins of rituals, the jour-
ney of becoming, living
traditions, and sacred
knowledge systems. Ad-
vanced technologies, in-
cluding 270-degree pro-
jection screens,
holographic installations,
3D projection mapping,
kinetic sculptures, and
panoramic video walls,
will be used to transform
complex cultural con-
cepts into engaging visi-
tor experiences.
A major highlight will
be dedicated interpreta-
tion zones for the 16 Hin-
du 'samskaras', alongside
immersive galleries ex-
ploring daily traditions,
folk practices, spiritual
beliefs, and ritual life
across generations.
An outdoor experien-
tial landscape will recre-
ate themes of Vanaprast-
ha, Sannyasa, and
Antyeshti through water
channels, Yajna Kunds,
Deep Stambh installa-
tions, and nature-inspired
contemplative spaces.
The architectural lan-
guage of the project draws
inspiration from Uttar
Pradesh’s indigenous and
tribal traditions, including
Tharu and Bhotiya design
motifs.
While incorporating
sustainable features such
as solar power generation,
rainwater harvesting, and
climate-responsive con-
struction.
UP Tourism and Cul-
ture Minister Jaiveer
Singh said the project rep-
resents a new approach to
cultural tourism where
visitors engage not only
with history but with liv-
ing traditions.
“This centre will
showcase the rituals, val-
ues, philosophies, and tra-
ditions that continue to

Hyderabad: union Coal
and Mines Minister G Kis-
han Reddy on Monday said
the coal and mining sectors
have undergone “revolution-
ary reforms” during the last
12 years under the leadership
of Prime Minister Narendra
Modi, transforming India
into the world’s second-larg-
est coal producer and con-
sumer.
Addressing a press con-
ference, Kishan Reddy said
the reforms launched under
the Modi government had
eliminated corruption and ir-
regularities that plagued the
coal sector during the previ-
ous Congress regime.
He alleged that coal
block allocations during the
UPA period were marred by
corruption, whereas the
NDA government intro-
duced a transparent auction
system in line with Supreme
Court directives.
The Minister said India
possesses the world’s fifth-
largest coal reserves and that
Coal India has emerged as
the world’s largest coal-pro-
ducing company. He noted
that coal currently accounts
for 72 per cent of the coun-
try’s power generation and
that production is carried out
across 426 mines through
public sector undertakings,
captive mines, and commer-
cial mines.
Kishan Reddy said India
achieved a record production
of one billion tonnes of coal
last year and is set to repeat
the feat this year as well. He
said Prime Minister Modi
personally reviews coal pro-
duction, transportation and
stock availability every
week to ensure uninterrupted
power supply across the
country.Stating that coal
transportation generates
nearly Rs 90,000 crore annu-
ally, he said the sector direct-
ly employs around five lakh
people and indirectly sup-
ports nearly 25 lakh jobs.
Bengaluru: With more than 60 Congress
legislators reportedly vying for just 20 vacant
ministerial positions, the party leadership in
Karnataka finds itself walking a political
tightrope as it prepares for the next phase of
Cabinet expansion in the newly formed gov-
ernment headed by Chief Minister D K Shiva-
kumar.
The scramble for Cabinet berths has
emerged as the first major political challenge
for the Congress government, with compet-
ing claims based on seniority, caste represen-
tation, regional balance, loyalty and factional
affiliations threatening to complicate the se-
lection process.
Following the swearing-in of 13 minis-
ters in the first phase, attention has now shift-
ed to the remaining vacancies.
Party sources said intense lobbying has
already begun, with aspirants reaching out to
senior leaders in New Delhi and Bengaluru in
an effort to secure a place in the ministry.
According to insiders, there are at least
three to four contenders for every available
berth, reflecting the growing pressure on the
Congress high command to accommodate a
wide spectrum of interests while maintaining
party unity.
The issue has gained significance amid
signs of unease within the ruling party over
portfolio allocation and ministerial represen-
tation.
Senior Congress leader Ramalinga Red-
dy had recently tendered his resignation after
reportedly being denied the Bengaluru De-
velopment portfolio before withdrawing it,
while supporters of Zameer Ahmed Khan
staged protests over Cabinet-related matters.

thy or political mileage. In-
stead, he said his intention was

types and suspicions that many

outside Jammu and Kashmir.
Shah emphasized that for de-
cades countless Kashmiris

strengthening ties between

Bengaluru: Karnataka
Deputy Chief Minister G
Parameshwara on Monday
came out strongly in support
of senior Congress MLA BZ
Zameer Ahmed Khan, advo-
cating his inclusion in the
next phase of the State Cabi-
net expansion. Speaking to
reporters in Tumakuru,
Parameshwara described
Zameer as a capable and ex-
perienced leader who de-
served a place in the Council
of Ministers.
Parameshwara said there
was a growing demand from
various sections of society
and party workers across
Karnataka for Zameer’s in-
duction into the Cabinet. He
noted that the Congress lead-
ership would likely take
these sentiments into ac-
count while finalising the
second phase of ministerial
appointments.
Highlighting Zameer’s
political experience, the
Deputy Chief Minister
pointed out that the senior
MLA had previously served
as a minister and had handled
his responsibilities effective-
ly. According to Paramesh-
wara, Zameer’s administra-
tive abilities and political
standing made him a strong
contender for a ministerial
berth.
“He is a capable leader,
especially from the minority
community. We do not know
why he was left out in the
first phase. There is a de-
mand across the state to give
him a ministerial berth in the
second phase,” Paramesh-
wara said while expressing
confidence that the Congress
high command would con-
sider the matter positively.
The Deputy Chief Min-
ister further stressed that
there was “nothing wrong”
in inducting Zameer into the
Cabinet. He suggested that
the party leadership was
aware of the expectations
surrounding the Cabinet ex-
pansion and would take a
balanced decision after con-
sulting all stakeholders.
Parameshwara’s re-
marks have gained signifi-
cance amid intense political
activity within the ruling
Congress. Several legisla-
tors and senior leaders are
reportedly lobbying for posi-
tions in the State Cabinet as
the party prepares for the
next round of appointments.
The Congress govern-
ment in Karnataka is cur-
rently functioning with
Chief Minister DK Shivaku-
mar and a team of 13 minis-
ters who were sworn in on
June 3. However, a number
of Cabinet positions remain
vacant, creating competition
among aspiring ministers
seeking inclusion in the gov-
ernment.
Political observers view
Parameshwara’s endorse-
ment as an important signal
within the Congress, particu-
larly because he is one of the
senior-most leaders in the
State. His support could
strengthen Zameer’s case
before the party’s central
leadership.BZ Zameer
Ahmed Khan has long been
regarded as an influential
leader, especially among mi-
nority communities.
