IDFC FIRST Bank delivered strong Q1 FY27 results. Total loans grew 20% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 2,97,834 Cr, while deposits increased 18% YoY to Rs 3,11,892 Cr. CASA deposits jumped 25% YoY to Rs 1,58,492 Cr, making up 50.8% of total deposits. Profit After Tax surged 132% YoY to Rs 1,075 Cr, marking its first time crossing Rs 1,000 Cr. Net Interest Margin (NIM) stood strong at 5.96%.
The bank's strategy centers on diversifying its loan book, expanding its Retail, Agri, and MSME (RAM) portfolio, which now constitutes 79% of total loans, supported by tech-driven underwriting. Profits are reinvested into growing its deposit franchise, digital platforms, and new products.
Notable recent developments include total loans crossing Rs 3,00,000 Cr and CASA deposits exceeding Rs 1,50,000 Cr. Asset quality hit an all-time low with Gross NPA at 1.51% and Net NPA at 0.44%.
Management anticipates continued improvement in profitability and declining Cost-to-Income ratios across businesses, targeting high teens Return on Equity (RoE). The bank aims to be a world-class institution with stable balance sheet growth and robust asset quality.
