Birla Corp faced Q1 headwinds from soft blended cement prices, especially in Central India, despite strong demand. Realizations, adjusted for incentives, saw an INR80/ton sequential rise. However, packaging and fuel costs jumped by INR150/ton, with another INR70-80/ton increase expected in Q2. Management maintains its growth guidance and FY27 capex of INR900 crore, aiming for INR2,000 crore net debt. Capacity expansion to 27.6 million tons by FY29 is on track, supported by WHRS additions and Bikram coal mine development. The company remains committed to its blended cement and trade segment focus, navigating competition with strategic cost management and anticipating rational market behavior.
