APL Apollo Tubes reported Q1 FY27 volumes of 745,000 tons, below expectations due to geopolitical issues, energy crisis, and high inflation impacting construction demand. Profitability improved, with gross profit up INR1,000/ton QoQ, and EBITDA flat at over INR5,500/ton despite a 20% volume drop. Cash on books stands at INR1,400 Cr.

Management forecasts 15-20% volume and over 20% absolute EBITDA growth for FY27. July volumes increased 20% MoM, with Q2 expected to improve. Capacity expansion to 8 million tons by FY28 Q4, including Gorakhpur (Q3 FY27) and Siliguri (Q4 FY27), will boost value-added product share to 75-80% and target INR6,000/ton EBITDA. Management expresses confidence in achieving annual targets.
