Hitachi Energy India reported a strong Q1FY27. Revenue jumped 68.6% YoY to Rs 2,493.7 Cr, with PAT soaring 123.5% YoY to Rs 294.2 Cr and Operational EBITDA margin at 16.0%. Order inflows were robust, up 110.4% YoY to Rs 5,096.5 Cr, boosting the order backlog to Rs 32,222.1 Cr. Growth was primarily fueled by renewables, industries, and data centers.
The company is focused on core segments like renewables, utilities, and HVDC, while expanding into new areas such as data centers and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Key Q1FY27 wins included its first BESS project in Andhra Pradesh, a 2GW wind power evacuation order in Europe, and a major contract for a 100 GW solar park. A significant development is the groundbreaking for a new large power transformer factory in Karjan, Vadodara, involving an additional Rs 2,000 Cr investment (total capex Rs 4,000 Cr) and targeting December 2028 completion to enhance manufacturing capacity.
Management sees strong tailwinds from India's energy transition, driving unprecedented demand in renewables, transmission, data centers, and railways.
