GPIL posted a resilient Q1FY27, with revenue surging 32% YoY to ₹1,750 Cr, driven by robust sales volumes and better prices. However, sequential profitability dipped: EBITDA ₹334 Cr (-24% QoQ) and PAT ₹222 Cr (-21% QoQ) due to higher input costs from market iron ore and rising coal prices.

The company is actively investing in backward integration, value-added steel, and renewable energy. A key project is the 5.4 MnT Beneficiation Plant, set for Q3FY27 commissioning, promising improved cost efficiencies from Q4FY27. GPIL also commissioned a 25 MW Captive Solar Plant and expanded its Waste Heat Recovery Boiler (WHRB) capacity. It decided to relocate the 0.7 MnT CRM Complex to Maharashtra for state incentives and synergy with the proposed 20 GWh BESS project, which is targeting Q1FY28 commissioning.

Q1FY27 Consolidated: Revenue ₹1,750 Cr, EBITDA ₹334 Cr, PAT ₹222 Cr, EPS ₹3.48.

Management anticipates easing cost pressures as captive mining increases post-beneficiation plant startup. Vision 2030 targets an ambitious 4x revenue and 3x EBITDA/PAT growth, leveraging its strong balance sheet and captive assets.
