Cummins India Limited — Investor Meet, 11-08-2026: Analysts/Institutional Investor Meet/Con. Call Updates
Cummins India reported strong Q1 FY27 results, with sales up 18% YoY to INR 3,375 Cr, fueled by robust domestic demand (+22% YoY). Exports remained flat YoY at INR 521 Cr. Profit Before Tax (PBT) before exceptional items was marginally lower by 0.7% YoY at INR 721 Cr, primarily due to unprecedented commodity cost increases and freight challenges.
Domestic power generation sales jumped 35% YoY, with data centers contributing significantly (40% of segment revenue). Industrial domestic sales rose 10%, and the distribution business grew 14%. Management highlighted strong demand across power generation (manufacturing, data centers, realty) and railways, with mining also picking up. Demand for high-horsepower engines currently outpaces supply.
The company implemented a price hike in Q2 to counter inflation, acknowledging a lag in full cost recovery. The distribution business is expected to sustain 20%+ growth in the coming years. Exports remain difficult to predict due to geopolitical situations. Cummins India focuses on operational efficiency, cost management, and supply chain resilience.
