20-08-2026 | 12:14 pm

Gem Aromatics held an earnings conference call discussing Q1 FY27 results. Management highlighted Y-o-Y revenue growth despite a seasonally softer quarter and challenges in the clove business due to Madagascar floods. Progress was noted at the Dahej facility, with a strategic shift towards a balanced mix of non-mint and specialty products, supported by innovation and R&D. Expansion continues with the proposed incorporation of a Brazil subsidiary.

Standalone revenue grew to ₹83 Cr from ₹76 Cr YoY. Consolidated revenue rose to ₹99 Cr from ₹88 Cr YoY. Standalone gross profit was ₹14.7 Cr (17.7% margin), and EBITDA was ₹8.5 Cr (10.3% margin). Consolidated gross profit was ₹16.5 Cr (16.7% margin), and EBITDA was ₹3.3 Cr (3.3% margin). Standalone PAT was ₹7.3 Cr, while consolidated PAT was a loss of ₹7.9 Cr, impacted by higher depreciation from the Dahej facility's capitalization.

New product verticals like Safranal, cooling agents (Gemcool 3, 5, 23), and phenol derivatives are progressing through commercialization phases, with meaningful revenue contributions expected from Q3 FY27 onwards. The company is focused on customer qualifications, building recurring supplies, and scaling new product lines. Management anticipates margin recovery driven by production ramp-up and a shift to higher value-added specialty products. FY28 is expected to see Krystal products contributing over 50% of revenue, with a significant ramp-up in overall revenue from the new platform. Investors can focus on customer approvals and product ramp-ups as key milestones for FY28 trajectory. Management expressed confidence in long-term value creation and disciplined execution.
